Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank you all and let you know how proud I am of all of you for coming out in positively record numbers, and speaking your mind with the simple act of voting. In this tumultuous time what our country needs is every single voice speaking his or her mind, no matter what party you affiliate yourself with. Partisanship will destroy our nation because the answer does not lie in the blues or the reds, rights or the lefts, but in equality, understanding, and the everlasting search for truth.
Barack Obama has been elected as our next president after eight long years of darkness and despicable politics, and as impressive of a man he may be, his road is long and very difficult. Whether or not you voted for our next president I urge you to continue to speak your mind about the issues that matter. Write letters, send emails, and use the internet to get messages out to your friends, your peers, and your government. Please remember and keep this with you: in this democracy of ours a voice is the loudest instrument, and anyone can play it. The only way to lead America into a more perfect union is to address the negatives as well as the positive. This will bring us into the future, as one.
